Everyone values love and desires to be loved, no one outgrows love irrespective of one’s status, age, background, educational qualification, influence, connections and so on. No one is too little to be loved even the baby in your hand that seems to cry a little even after eating is doing so to get attention and that’s a craving to be loved; it calls out to others one way or the other.
Our aged parents complain of poor communication and feel relegated and abandoned by their children in the cities for the same “reason”. A wife feels unnoticed and unloved because her husband did not commend her dressing or cooking. On the other hand, a husband feels the ego has been trampled upon because to him, he should be the pride of his wife and should be showed off by his wife at every given opportunity. The little child in the orphanage craves to be cuddled and loved but meets with the harsh reality of not staying with he’s immediate family. The list goes on and on, but one thing has been proven, every living thing needs love to survive. Love is a personal attachment for a parent, child or friend which triggers a compassionate and affectionate action towards the person.
However, love is one of the attributes of God and an essential part of His nature. God is Love and all who live in true Love, Live in God and God lives in them…1John 4:16.
One can never separate Love from God Just as one cannot claim to Know God if there is no love. Love is the essence of Christianity for out of the Love of God, Jesus came and died to salvage Man. This is AGAPE Love…God’s kind of love.
Agape means Loving unconditionally, loving without expecting anything in return, Loving in truth and indeed. Unlike the other kinds of Love, love is Patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, not rude, not arrogant, not selfish, not easily provoked, keeps no record of wrong, does not delight in evil, bears all things, believes all things etc. This season Let this True Love be shed abroad in our hearts as we go out there to show love to as many people as possible.
Speak love, act love, live love, say love, spread love. That’s what today and everyday should be and SFI remains the ministry where love is seen, felt and experienced, no wonder our Motto for life is “LOVE IN ACTION”.
