The word know means to be aware or cognizant of something. However, in this contest, we are looking at having the knowledge or knowing who God is. a lot of Christians do not really understand or even know the power of God this is the reason why they live a life of mediocrity and may never excel in life both physically and spiritually. This is the reason why Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved a workman that need not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. You cannot know God without studying his word.  Peter and John were aware of how powerful God is and His word, so the moment they met the man at the beautiful gate in front of the devil, the man was asking them for alms. They knew they had something more than money, so Peter spoke authoritatively to the lame man and said: “Silver and gold have me none, but such as I have, give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk”. Peter went further and took him by the hand and lifted him and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and the man began leaping for joy. This is an example of men who knew their God. Men who knew that God is all-powerful and that he can never fail. In the same way, the three Hebrew boys, Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego were caught up in a kind of dilemma if the natural mind would describe it. But they stood their ground and told Nebuchadnezzar that even if God does not answer them or come to their aid, they will still not bow down to the golden image despite the fact that the furnace was burning and was heated up seven times more than it was initially, yet they never gave up the fight of faith; they knew their God and that he is able to deliver them.

Similarly, Daniel, faced the same challenge yet he didn’t give up. Even when the decree says that whoever prays to any other God except to the gods of the land would be thrown into the den of lions, yet Daniel never relented from praying. He constantly opened his windows and prayed daily. The people in the king’s cabinet had to report him to the King yet never fidgeted, he made up his mind to be thrown into the den of lions than to fail God.

In the same vein, the bible is an example of men who knew God and walked with Him. This is what God desires that every of His child would have intimacy with him and know what He is able to do for you.
