Strength simply means the quality of being strong or having power or vigor. There are different kinds of strength expressed.
Bodily/Muscular strength/power: This just means having physical strength.
Mental strength/Power: This means putting the brain in use.
Moral strength/power: It simply means being morally courageous.
Influential/authoritative strength/power: This kind of strength is usually built through charisma.
Financial Strength/power: This is having riches. However, a lot of people enter into trouble because they cannot control their urge and longing for money.
Positional Strength/power: Most people got this kind of strength through the positions they occupy.
These are some of the kinds of strength expressed consciously and unconsciously. However, there is another kind of strength that a believer requires. This kind of strength requires him/her to live victoriously on earth. This strength is known as:
Inner/Spiritual strength/power: This is a kind of strength acquired from God. It can only be built in our intimacy with God through the studying of His word and prayer. This strength makes one to stand strong in the face of adversity and extreme difficult times. It is this kind of strength that enables one speak with boldness and in faith when other people are living in fear.
It is this kind of strength that constrains one not to make a move but to trust and wait on the Lord even when things seem not to be working out smoothly (Isaiah 40:31). It makes one stand out among their equals. This strength comes from the place of knowing God and what He can do. Proverbs 24:10, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small”.
