Living in the past makes one pile up waste in one’s life. One of the greatest killers of our time is living in the past. Paul admonished us in the book of Philippians 3: 13 ” Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and straining toward what is ahead” Paul had a very negative past as a persecutor of the church. He was dreaded by all that it was hard for some believers to actually accept that He had gotten saved but He knew very well that brooding over his past will only end up distracting him from achieving so much for the kingdom.
Remember not the former thing, neither consider the things of old, God is continuously doing new things today. Blaming yourself for every misfortune that comes your way will only keep you miserable and unproductive.
Get up from the seat of the past and begin to live in the understanding that you have great potentials and therefore cannot be reduced to a mediocre.
Life is too short to live in the past mistakes which affect one’s intimacy with God.
