God is an all-powerful God. His mightiness cannot be quantified nor compared. He created the whole universe through and with His power. However, He did not leave man void of power. This was the same power that was at work in Adam, that he was able to name all the animals in the garden of Eden. The same power was at work in Moses when he stretched forth his power and divided the red sea. Although he was in doubt initially, God convinced him and empowered him. Moses as we read in the scriptures, functioned in the same attribute as God because He was His representative here on earth to the children of Israel.

Similarly, the same power was at work in Elisha that it caused him to run and overtake Ahab’s chariot. As a matter of fact, that same power is available to us in these present times. God wants us to use this power which is at our deposal to conquer the enemy, face life challenges and do exploits in the kingdom. However, many believers are not aware of how much of God’s power is at work in them. One of the ways to activate this power is to come to the awareness of the efficacy of the name Jesus.  The name of Jesus Christ is so powerful, this is the reason Paul wrote in Philippians 2:9, “wherefore God has highly exalted Him and have given him a name above every other name, that at the name of Jesus every knee bows of things in heaven, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father.”

But many Christians prefer to call on their earthly father or mother for rescue than Jesus. The power of God is in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12, For there is no other name given among men whereby they would be saved except Jesus. Therefore, God is saying that His power is manifested in and through the name of Jesus. Paul admonished us in Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.
