God delights in the prosperity of his children. (3 john 1v 2) says ‘’Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and may keep well, even as your soul keeps well and prospers’’ (Amp) Our salvation is not only about deliverance from sin; God also wants his own to enjoy abundant life, a life that triumph over poverty, deprivation and shame.
God is the only one who gives out riches but he operates according to a set law. In (Genesis 8:22,) He ordained that “while earth remaineth seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease’’. Since that was spoken into being by him. It has stood fast from generation to generation, planting must happen before harvesting. The same applies in the spiritual realm. Moreover the way you live is a direct function of the way you give. The more open handed you are in giving to the Lord and needs of others, the wider the windows of heaven opens for you.
God commands giving because it is the surest way to getting. In (Luke 6:38) says “Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, press down shaken together and running over, shall men given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” He also demands that you give because the kingdom here on earth is being funded and managed by what you give.
Note that the measure of blessing you are enjoying now is the measure of your giving. When you do more, God gives you more. When you give liberally, generously and without holding back, God says He will move men to give manifold returns to you. The believer who gives is merely investing in his future because he is acting in obedience to God’s command. “Prove me now.’’ God therefore opens the floodgates of His abundance to him and causes every aspect of his life to blossom. He is pruned so he can yet produce more fruits of liberality.
Contrary to man’s carnal wisdom, it is giving that enlarges your coat not withholding. (Proverbs 11:24 says) “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is yet with holdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty”. So why don’t you remove your eyes from your need and projections and begin to give God commands? Even if you have been a giver, you can improve and increase your giving because you cannot out-give God. Prove Him now and you will discover that He is not a man that should go back on promise!
